It's been 3 months since I did a blog and podcast so this may be a little lengthy because I have a lot to say. Took some much needed time off from social media and the news cycle. I post nothing on social media any longer, the odd comment that gets blocked on twitter for hate speech. I blog and podcast for my mental health only at this point and I've learned CanaDUH is not a serious country.

On a personal note our mother passed away. Very sad time for our family, we honoured her life with a burial and celebration of life in the Eastern Townships, Quebec. We had 50 family and friends join us to celebrate her life and accomplishments and mom would have been very proud. The weather co-operated and she was very much loved by a lot of people and far too young to be gone so soon and we miss her deeply.
Our mom was a beautiful soul and human being who loved, adored and protected her children. Mom thought she was doing the right thing, diagnosed with COPD, she was fully vaxed with COVID shots, boosters, shingles and flu shots to 'save' herself. Shortly after she developed a turbo cancer Stage 4 inoperable massive tumour on her lung. She was diagnosed last April 2024 and passed March 2025. We are grateful she is no longer suffering and she did get very good end of life care in Hospice and we were able to say our goodbyes with dignity and share many memories, we feel blessed for this opportunity.

After experiencing our mother's painful death I can see why some people would choose MAID since there is no point to endless suffering.
One of the things I learned is that end of life care in Hospice is actually very much like MAID, they just do it more slowly and call it managing their symptoms of suffering while increasing their medication to the point they are completely drugged out and unresponsive. In the end our mother was so hopped up on narcotics that she was unable to communicate for a solid week before she passed.
I wonder if there is an alternative to naturally dying or do they speed it up like this to make room for more Hospice patients as this is a business and money maker? It is a very confusing and painful time for families that do not want to question the system when you and your family is in it and many of your family members do not think or question things like you do. Many are not willing to fight and question things. It's easier to go along to get along. MEH.

King Charles III had barely left the country as the National Assembly unanimously adopted a motion on Tuesday to cut all ties with the monarchy.
