WATCH: Trump Says DeSantis Would ‘Certainly Be Considered’ as 2024 Running Mate
Former President Donald Trump said that he would “certainly consider” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a potential running mate in 2024.
Speaking to Maria Bartiromo on FOX Business, Trump also said that he is one hundred percent thinking about running — and that it will be “very successful.”
Asked by Bartiromo if he is considering running, Trump responded that he is.
“Yes, 100%,” Trump said, “and the polls show that everybody wants me to do it. One hundred percent I’m thinking about running, and I think we will be very successful.”
Trump went on to discuss the number of votes and irregularities in the election before the topic switched to DeSantis.
“Well, he’s a friend of mine, I endorsed Ron and, after I endorsed him, he took off like a rocket ship,” Trump said. “He’s done a great job as governor, a lot of people like that.”
Trump added that DeSantis “would certainly be considered,” and said he is a “great guy.”
